Greater comfort when you travel: Reserve seats with more legroom. Our seats in the Extra Legroom category offer 37 to 60 cm extra legroom on long-haul flights and 8 to 13 cm on short-haul flights. Some of these seats are located in the exit rows and are therefore subject to special conditions (see below). The prices for Extra Legroom Seats vary by route and destination.

Premium Economy Class Standard Seat

Whether on the aisle or by the window, in Premium Economy Class, you can reserve a seat in advance. The price will vary depending on the length of your flight and the destination. For some fares, the price already includes advance seat reservation.
Business Class standard seat

On short and medium-haul flights, the free middle seat in Business Class offers more space and comfort. On long-haul flights, standard seats in Business Class can be converted into a fully flat bed. Seat selection is free of charge.

If you have booked a package holiday, this is possible either free of charge or for a fee, depending on the booking conditions.
Depending on whether you have the six-digit booking code from Discover Airlines or the booking code from the tour operator to hand, you can book your seats using the following methods:

  • I have a six-digit booking code from Discover Airlines:
    If you have already received the six-digit booking code from Discover Airlines with your travel documents, you can reserve your desired seat in the My Bookings section.
  • I have a booking code from my tour operator:
    If you have a tour code from your tour operator and would like to reserve a seat in advance, please click on My Bookings under Flight Search on the home page and tick"I have a tour operator's tour code".  After signing in, you can add your preferred seat to your booking.
    Please note that this particular option is only available if you have booked your trip with one of the following companies or their respective subsidiaries: TUI, Dertour, Schauinsland, Alltours, Vtours, Olimar, Ltur, LMX, Anex Tour, Aurum Tours, Bentour, ETI, Ferien Touristik, Coral Travel, Lufthansa Holidays, Flamingo Tours, Frosch Sportreisen, Pepxpress and Weloveholidays.

If you have booked a package holiday through another provider, you can select your seat on the online check-in system from 30 hours before departure.

Please note that an advance seat reservation for so-called full charter flights (recognizable by a four-digit flight number starting with “2”, i.e. 4Y 2xxx) is only possible through the tour operator. In these cases, please contact your tour operator or your travel agency directly, as the Discover Airlines Service Center does not have access to these advance seat reservations.

The fees for advance seat reservation depend on the segment and can also depend on the ticket price, the frequent flyer status and the flight route. The price for the different seating categories varies depending on the length of the route. Prices may change at any time.

  • The flight reservation is confirmed (no waiting list reservations)
  • Advance seat reservation is possible no later than 52 hours before departure

Please note that having a confirmed advance seat reservation does not constitute a legal claim to a specific seat on board the aircraft (e.g. seat 3A). It refers solely to the selected category (e.g. standard seat, seat in the preferred seating zone, seat with extra legroom). One advance seat reservation is valid per flight segment.

As soon as the check-in for the flight in question begins (usually 30 hours before departure), you can select from any seats still available free of charge if the fare conditions permit. Please note that in these circumstances, the selection may then be limited. We recommend that you reserve your seat as early as possible. In the event of changes to the cabin or aircraft, Discover Airlines reserves the right to replace an advance seat reservation with a different, comparable seat.

Seats in the emergency exit rows can only be booked for passengers who meet the following requirements:

  • They are at least 16 years old.
  • They are fluent in German or English.
  • They are willing to provide assistance in the unlikely event of an emergency.
  • They are able to read and understand instructions and, in the event of an emergency, comply with crew commands.
  • They are able to perform the tasks assigned to them without the help of a traveling companion, parent or other relative.
  • They are not traveling with someone who would need their help in an emergency.
  • They have no condition or position of responsibility that would prevent them from performing these tasks or that would cause physical harm during the performance of the tasks.
  • They are not traveling with a small animal in the cabin.
  • To ensure safety on board, Discover Airlines may assign passengers who do not meet these requirements a different seat.
  • Carry-on baggage must be stored in the baggage compartments as no items may be stored in the seating area or under the seats during takeoff and landing.

Complimentary Economy Light fare seat selection is only available on short-haul for HON Circle Members when performing an online check-in. Advance seat reservations or seat changes during online check-in without the specified frequent flyer status are only available at an additional fee.

When making an advance seat reservation for your Discover Airlines flight, you can simply and easily choose between standard seats, a seat in the preferred seating area or a seat with extra legroom. Our comfortable Extra Legroom seats offer 37 to 60 cm extra legroom on long-haul and 8 to 13 cm on short-haul. In the Legroom category, up to 11 cm more legroom on long-haul. Free of charge or for a fee, depending on the fare you booked.

With Discover Airlines, flying on vacation with your family will be a pleasure. Infants under two years of age can of course fly on their parents’ lap, secured with a loop belt. From two years of age, children travel on their own seat (subject to a charge). At Discover Airlines, our small passengers also travel at a discounted price.
