To achieve this, we want to reduce emissions from air travel as much as possible. One result of this trajectory is delivering Green Fares – these are fares that enable more sustainable travel.

Contribute to future reductions in CO2 emissions with Green Fares
Throughout Europe
By selecting Economy Green and Business Green fares, you will contribute to future reductions in CO2 emissions. This contribution corresponds to the use of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) equivalent to 20% of estimated individual flight-related CO2 emissions and a contribution to high-quality climate protection projects equivalent to the estimated remaining 80% of individual flight-related CO2 emissions. This 20/80 combination is an established Green Fares metric on European flights, enabling more sustainable flying. In addition to CO2 emissions, flying has other impacts on the climate.
Across the rest of the world
We now offer Green Fares on many long-haul routes offered by the Lufthansa Group, the better to enable more sustainable travel.
By choosing Economy Green, Premium Eco Green, Business Green or First Green fares on long-haul routes, you can help reduce future CO2 emissions. This contribution corresponds to the use of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) equivalent to 10% of estimated individual flight-related CO2 emissions, and a contribution to high-quality climate protection projects equivalent to the estimated remaining 90% of individual flight-related CO2 emissions.
Available on Lufthansa Group airlines long-haul return flights, except for bookings to and from Japan.
Book Green Fares
Green Fares do not need to be booked separately. Alongside Economy, Premium Economy and Business fares, they constitute a standalone fare that can be booked directly.
With Economy Green, Premium Green and Business Green, we offer all the advantages of our fare families, in addition to more flexible rebooking options and additional Miles and Points.
