Cookie policy

EW Discover GmbH uses browser cookies, scripts, web beacons, tracking URLs, pixel tags and similar technologies (hereinafter “cookies”) to provide, protect and improve our website and applications. In the following, we explain to you how our cookies work, what purpose they have, what type of data they collect and how you can manage your cookie settings.

What are cookies, and how do they work?

Cookies are small files. When you visit our website or application (hereinafter “platform”), these files will be downloaded to the browser directory or to the hard drive of your computer, tablet or smartphone (hereinafter “device”). Every time you visit our platform, the cookie and the platform communicate, thereby recognizing your device. This is useful for both you and us. For example, a cookie can be used to save your text entries in form fields on the website, so you do not have to provide the same information again the next time you visit the website. This improves the user-friendliness of our platforms. We manage the cookies with a small program called a “tool” or “tag.”

We use cookies from first and third-party providers. First-party cookies come from our platform and only send information to us; third-party cookies are placed on our website by third parties and send information about your device to other companies that recognize this cookie. In most cases, the information in a cookie is pseudonymized or anonymized, because cookies generally do not identify you as a person, but rather your device. In rare cases, certain cookies can be linked to personal data. We will only process such information if you give us your consent or if processing it is necessary so you can use a certain service, such as your discover-airlines.com profile.

We use Google Marketing Platform’s Floodlight script (formerly DoubleClick Floodlight) to measure the success of our Google advertising campaigns, and to optimize our online advertising.

To this end, Floodlight collects information about your visit to our website and your click behavior (on our website as well as on certain third-party websites). For example, if you access our site through a Google ad and visit certain sub-pages, the Floodlight script recognizes this connection.
