Passengers requiring wheelchairs

The local airport and Discover Airlines offer passengers requiring a wheelchair assistance when boarding and disembarking both on the apron and on board. Please register any assistance needs via the Discover Airlines Service Center from Monday to Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. CET at +49 (0) 69 86 798 200 or online:
To provide the best possible assistance, please inform us of your assistance needs up to 48 hours prior to departure.
The following services can be booked:
  • Wheelchair assistance to/from the departure gate (WCHR)—if you cannot walk long distances but can use the steps up to the aircraft.
  • Wheelchair assistance to/from the aircraft door (WCHS)—if you cannot walk long distances or use the aircraft steps but are able to move around in the aircraft.
  • Wheelchair assistance to/from the aircraft seat (WCHC)—if you are unable to walk.

Your own battery-powered wheelchair

To book your own battery-powered wheelchair, please email the request form below to specialservices.discover-airlines@lufthansa-group.com (opening times: Monday to Friday, 8.30 a.m.‒8 p.m.; Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, 8.30 a.m.‒4.30 p.m. CET). Based on the information you provide, we will check whether it is possible to transport your electric wheelchair.
