Your upgrade to Premium Economy Class on long-haul flights
An upgrade to Premium Economy Class offers noticeably more comfort. Enjoy greater seat spacing, more legroom and improved services for an even more enjoyable journey from start to finish.
A variety of benefits in Premium Economy Class
- A comfortable Premium Economy Class seat that gives you more space and significantly-enhanced onboard service compared with Economy Class
- An 11-inch monitor and a power supply at each seat
- Priority check-in at the airport
- Optional lounge access (to selected Lufthansa lounges for a fee; for HON Circle Members, Senators and Frequent Travelers, lounge access rules apply according to the respective Miles & More member status)
- Higher or equivalent mileage and Points credit (since individual Economy or Premium Economy booking classes may have the same miles and Points values as those of lower-priced Premium Economy Class or Business Class booking classes)
Please note that the fare conditions of your original ticket — i.e., the rules for rebooking, refunds and baggage — will remain unchanged. The free baggage allowance will also continue to be based on the fare originally booked. You can find the relevant information on your passenger receipt.
If your original ticket included paid additional services that are already included in the new travel class, no refund will be issued (excluding paid advance seat reservations).
Prices for an upgrade to Premium Economy Class depend on the route, the booking class and the flight duration.
- Availability in Premium Economy Class
- Confirmed reservation (no waiting list bookings)
- A ticket that has already been issued
- Flights operated by Discover Airlines
- Upgrades via discover-airlines.com are only available for all travelers in one booking. If you would like to purchase an upgrade only for select travelers in one booking, please contact our Service Center.
- Upgrades must be booked within a fixed period of time, no later than 24 hours prior to departure. You can book as early as 360 days before departure. Deadlines vary by destination — availability for your flight is visible after entering the booking code.
An upgrade is not possible in the following cases:
- On flights for which check-in has been completed
- On trips for which paid additional services have already been booked, but no payment has been made and corresponding service documents have not been issued
- On trips for which additional services have already been booked that exclude an upgrade, e.g., when taking a small animal into the aircraft cabin
