Air travel connects people, cultures and economies and is therefore an indispensable part of a globalized world. This societal and economic value must go hand in hand with the ambition to further reduce aviation’s impact on the climate and the environment. To advance lower-emission and therefore more sustainable aviation, the Lufthansa Group invests in new fuel-efficient aircraft, supports the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) and continuously improves operational efficiency.
Impact Fares complement these initiatives and give customers the opportunity to support this transition. The name “Impact” reflects the intended positive contribution of the measures supported. While the fare does not make an individual flight itself sustainable, it supports concrete measures that contribute to emission savings. These include the use of additional Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) on future flights and selected climate protection projects that contribute to CO₂ avoidance or removal.
The Impact Fares continue the offer introduced in 2023 as the former “Green Fares” under a new name. The established benefits remain unchanged: Depending on the route and fare, customers support the use of SAF and selected climate protection projects while also benefiting from additional Miles & More miles and Points as well as the respective fare benefits. Impact Fares are available on flights within Europe and North Africa and on most intercontinental routes.
